To bring you briefly up-to-date. There was no Christmas newsletter for 2014 because Arlene's Dad had passed away in December and things got very hectic. 2014 started out with Arlene volunteering to be part of the NY/NJ Superbowl Host Committee the week prior to superbowl. Jerry got published in a Military magazine. Those were the hightlights for 2014.

For 2015 we got to take a few trips. We went to Misouri to visit Justin, Kristen & the girls (bottom picture above). We also got to go skiing in Sunday River Maine. Went to Las Vegas in September. Jerry's brother Steve met us there and it was great to see him. Went on a cruise in October to Bermuda in celebration of our church's 50th Anniversary. Also got to celebrate the 50th Feola Family Reunion in Great Barrington, Ma where it all began.

Arlene's Mom is still looking beautiful at 93. Janine is helping her husband Bob in his Chiropractic business which is doing fairly well. Kristen published another book, Spiritually Strong. We were priviledged to be featured on CBS (for 2 seconds) in the kickoff for the Intrepid Museum's new display dipicting the Viet Nam era. One of Jerry's letters to me, which we had donated to the Museum, is on display in this venue.

Arlene, Janine, Lexi & Gianna got be in the production of, Joy of Christmas at our church. Three generations appearing in this exciting play focusing on the true meaning and real gift of Christmas.

We wish each and everyone of you to receive this genuine gift bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father. May this Season and the New Year bring new meaning and joy to you in a world which so desperately needs hope.

Blessings, Jerry & Arlene Feola

Our 2013 Christmas Greeting to You.

Christmas 2013

Jerry recuperated from the ruptured Achilles tendon after his surgery.
Unfortunately, he became plagued with plantar fasciitis which hampered his skiing for 2013.  Arlene had to ski without him and went to Big Sky Montana with her friends instead of him.  But this coming 2014 we have 2 ski trips planned. One trip will be to Sunday River Maine and the other to Big White in British Columbia Canada. Jerry is still suffering with the plantar fasciitis. Hopefully with physical therapy and him being a good boy he will get better.

We are still volunteering on the Intrepid but a little more sporadic because he
can’t stand on his feet too long.  The Intrepid did another interview with him but it has not been published as of yet.  It is being prepared for the Library of Congress. In celebration of the Intrepid’s 70th Anniversary, Jerry was privileged to throw out the first pitch at a Brooklyn Cyclone’s game in Coney Island.  Janine, Bob & our three grandkids were there with us along with several of Jerry’s cousins.

This year the Sportsman’s Foundation for Military Families sponsored a free hunt
for Jerry, Arlene & Justin.  We flew down to Florida to take advantage of the three day stay to Boar Hunt.  Jerry and Justin bagged one each.  For Arlene it was exciting to sit next to Jerry and watch him take down the hog. He also did get a doe this year.  After all he had to make up for last year’s failure. We also took a cruise on the Queen Mary 2 to Boston and Halifax during the July 4th week.

Our daughter-in-law Kristen has written another book which is in the process of
being published.  It should come out in the fall of 2014.  Our son-in-law Bob moved one of his Chiropractic offices into a larger facility.  Our children Justin (still working as commander for the Public Health Service) and Janine (working part time for Bob) are very supportive of their spouses.  We are also proud of all our grandchildren.  They are doing so well in school and getting bigger each year.

As we celebrate this Holiday let us be mindful of the real reason for the Season.
May our Savior bless each and everyone and grant you good health in the New Year.

Lovingly,
Jerry & Arlene Feola       arlenefeola@si.rr.com

Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year as we celebrate another year of the birth of our Lord.  We started out the year skiing in Sunday River Maine & then a trip to beautiful Steamboat Colorado.  What a beautiful country God has blessed us with.  We are still volunteering at the Intrepid Museum.  As a matter of fact they interviewed Jerry because of his service on the Intrepid in 1967.  You can catch the interview at the following website: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfbWaNDD55M&feature=player_embedded

In June Kristen, Justin, Jocelyn & Isabelle flew in from MO.  We went canoeing in PA & made a nostalgic visit to the beach at Coney Island.  It is just so wonderful seeing & getting to spend time with them.  Kristen’s book, The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast, is still selling.  Justin went on a mission’s trip to Haiti in November, helping to build houses for the less fortunate.  We also celebrated Arlene’s parents’ 90th birthdays during this time.  Catherine & John are still going strong (pretty much like Everybody Loves Raymond’s parents on TV).

Bob has invested in two chiropractic offices in New Jersey, so needless to say he is very busy.  Janine spent most of the summer stressed out from fighting for little Bobby so he can be placed in a more appropriate program. With the help of an advocate she was successful.

Jerry decided to try & get back into the swing of things and play tennis again.  In September he joined Arlene in playing with a group of people.  During the first game he falls on the court which was due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.  Needless to say, his ski season is over before it has begun.  He needed surgery & was placed in a cast for 4-5 weeks.  Then one of those boots.  He’s been much better now.  Not using the boot as much or the crutches.

Well we all know what big event happened in October.  Hurricane Sandy had a tragic impact on Staten Island, the City & New Jersey.  Our church has become a storehouse for many donated supplies for those in our region.  It has been remarkable the outpouring of donations from all over the country.  Volunteers from the Southwest Baptist Convention Disaster Relief have come from all over.  Some from Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas have been continually coming in on a rotating weekly basis.  They sleep on cots in sleeping bags in our church building.

They are the ones who help the Red Cross get things done.  It was an eye opener for us when we went to the Red Cross on Thanksgiving Day to help prepare meals & load trucks to bring the food to those in need of a meal.  These volunteers are so well organized.  I think they knew more of what to do than those from the Red Cross.

Yes, Jerry did go hunting this season even though he was hobbling around.  He didn’t see anything other than turkeys & squirrels probably because of his limited mobility. So no meat this year; maybe next year.

God bless you and have a safe and healthy New Year.

Love, Jerry & Arlene

Christmas 2010 Greetings

Christmas 2010
Greetings & Blessings this wonderful Christmas Season as we celebrate the historic birth of Jesus Christ. Janine, Bob, Bobby, Gianna, & Lexi are all doing fine. Janine is doing some clerical work at home part time. Bob is still into finances, keeping his hands in the chiropractic business somewhat. Bobby is 7, Gianna is now 5, and Lexi is 2 and is keeping up with her brother and sister.
Justin got a promotion to Commander with the Public Health Service. He’s still doing his physical therapy with his “patients.” Kristen has made quite an accomplishment this year. She has a book published and is being released this month. The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast, by Kristen Feola. It can be ordered through Amazon.com. You can check out her website: www.thosewhohunger.blogspot.com. Isabelle is now 7 and Jocelyn is 5. Where does the time go?

In March, Jerry’s niece Lindsey got married and we flew to Arizona. It was great seeing Steve, Mary and the family again. This summer (as we had mentioned last year) we fulfilled our planned trip to Alaska. We went with several friends and cousins. It was a memorable and exciting trip. We wished that more of you would have been able to come with us.
This past fall we went to Missouri to see Justin and family. From there we flew out to Phoenix again. We got to spend some quality and relaxing time with Steve and Mary at their cabin up in Heber.
Jerry is still working at the church part time. Arlene is doing her H&R Block gig taking all the necessary courses to keep current and ready for tax season.
We thank all of you for being a very special part of our lives. Even if we haven’t seen you for quite sometime you are in our thoughts. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Love, Jerry & Arlene arlenefeola@si.rr.com
